The Norwood Flynn Gallery showcases new paintings of Dallas city landmarks by David Leonard. The show opens Saturday, November 22 and runs through Saturday, January 24, 2009. Meet the artist at an opening reception held on Saturday, November 22 from 6 to 8 p.m. All shows are free and open to the public.
A Grand Affair

Wally Workman Gallery presents a group show titled A Grand Affair beginning January 10. The show features new works from 50 artists, each piece priced under $1,000, and is on display until January 31.

Thunderbox Road

Thunderbox Road is a traveling exhibit of 12 Thunderboxes showcasing the artistic talents of 12 of the top artists in the Hill Country. The artists who were invited to participate: David Querbach, Pamela Gardner, Nancy McGalliard, Ken and Donna Malson, Thom Evans, Rex Hausmann, Dotti Brundrett, C.J. Latta, Ben Beckendorf, Betty Rhodes and Greg Glowka, Gwendolyn Listerman and Charles and Tami Kegley. The 12-piece exhibit premieres on October 4th in Boerne on the banks of the Cibolo Creek. From Boerne the exhibit moves to the Hill Country Arts Foundation in Ingram where it will be showcased for 3 weeks. It will travel the Hill Country through April of 2009; and on May 9, 2009, the Thunderboxes will be auctioned at the Museum of Western Art in Kerrville. Representatives from Hill Country Arts organizations will serve on the Judge's Panel, determining the $5,000 cash award for the Judge's Choice award. Ballots will be available while the Thunderboxes are on tour to determine the winner of the People's Choice Award, also a $5,000 cash award.
Painted Journeys on the Colorado Plateau

The Museum of Northern Arizona spotlights three artists in a new exhibition. Painted Journeys on the Colorado Plateau, showcases 36 of their works, and is on display until May 26, 2009. The artists featured in the exhibition are Judy Abbott, K.L. McKenna, and Eva van Rijn.
